My computer with Windows 2000 is crashing without reason. I can crash in stupid situations like scrolling a web page or opening mIRC... When it "crashes", the screen freezes and the keyboard/mouse stop working. However, if the 'puter was playing a mp3 or downloading something, the download will finish and the mp3 will continue to play. Pretty weird, eh? I thought that it could be a IRQ problem... It seems that the evil monopolistic empire of Micro$oft decided that all my important devices of my motherboard (video card, sound card, network card) are on the same IRQ (9) even if I've configured my BIOS to have specific IRQ at each device (11 for video, 10 for network, 9 for sound) and I can't change them! The "Configure Manually" buttons are disabled... What could I do for that except throwing my new computer through the window? It is a problem with Windows 2000, my motherboard, or my video card?
