Asus A7V & Dip Switches: with or without onboard Sound???

I've it heard mentioned a few times, but I want to get the skinny from someone who has the board.

I've heard that the version WITH onboard sound DOES NOT have the dip switches, HOWEVER, the A7V WITHOUTH onboard sound DOES have the dipswitches. Is this true?

I've also heard that the next production run, in about 2 weeks, will ALL have the dip switches on them. True?

I think manafufu has the board without sound and with dipswitches.He said in a previous thread he would try the o/c.Haven't heard the results.I will have 2 A7V's without sound arriving tommorow. I will let you know if mine have or have not dip switches.I too ,have my fingers crossed. BTW manafufu lives in Hong Kong and has had his mobo at least a week now.

I have the A7V with onboard audio and have dipswitches. There are 6 undocumented dipswitches on my board. The manual says that frequency multiple settings are not available but the manual never talked about the 6 switches which are on my board.

So basically, I will be sending the one that I just bought back to TC computers, (cause knowing my luck it will not have the switches, and I sure as heck did not want audio.) Triple wanna sell one or tell me where...time to ditch this old irongate and athlon 700

I got an A7v w/o audio from http://www.allstarshop.com. Ordered it on Saturday, they were sold out on Sunday and removed the item completely on Monday. I got the motherboard today, and it has the dip switches. Haven't received my Duron yet though

Apparently some of these board are not all that stable, I wanted to buy one, but the place where I'm buying it returned them all because they were not stable for o/c and Asus agreed to send them another batch from the next production. I'm not saying there bad but... I'd rather wait for the next production and have a stable board for o/c. The next batch should have o/c at the bios level not dip switch.

One of my buds just bought an A7V, and he's sitting here w/ me upgrading right now. It's got onboard sound (which we promptly disabled by jumper), and only has the single set of dip switches.

On a side note, he booted it up once, got into the bios, and before even TRYING to save & exit, the system locked, IN THE BIOS.

Now, when he boots it up, beeps, video, or anything, just the fans & HD spin up. All connections have been double checked, and the CPU has been reseated. All extra cards have been removed. We even removed the AGP card to see if it would beep at us in anger, nuttin.

Now, the thermal probe is not connected (can't find it). Someone else posted that the MB will not work if the probe is not connected. After 10 lines of a single run-on sentence, I tend to question his judgement. Can anyone else verify this?? If not, does anyone have any suggestions??
