I know, my A7V is old but I like to keep my drivers up to date. All is well except for my onboard promise IDE controller. I'm using the latest BIOS available for my board, version 1011 I believe. The strange part is that no matter which promise driver I download I have the same issues. I've tried downloading promise drivers from asus' website and directly from promise' website as well. The driver installs fine but after I reboot windows the performance of my computer starts acting a little weird. For instance, if you're starting an application that requires a lot of hard drive activity (Netscape 7) the mouse movement becomes very jerky and erratic. My CPU utilization is generally higher with the new drivers when accessing the hard disk. Anyone else having these issues? Does anyone know a way around them?
