ASUS A7V Lock-Ups Using a TBird 1GHz-Any Answers Yet?Look@

Well this is the specs I'm just about on my last leg with this board,ASUS A7V-Revision 1.02-1004c Bios-Virus Scan -Installed Windows 98SE-New Faster Boot Time Promise Controller Driver-Nvidia 634-522-others tried-400W PS(PC Coolings Best)-Memory Corsair PC133(128mb) ECC Cas2-423-424-4in1 Via Apollo drivers updated-No IRQ conflicts now- I read were Gateway dropped the AMD TBird because of random lock-ups using various boards-I believe it's the TBird CPU.

Try to underclock the beast. Underclock the CPU/DRAM-bus to 90 Mhz instead, and see if it works. If it doesn't try an older BIOS. For example the 1003 or the good (in my opinion) 1002.

I'm having the same issue...everything works flawless except lockups in games TB 1Ghz default and Asus A77 + 1005A, can't figure it out

I was running a Duron in my A7V without any problem, I switched to a TB and my games would freeze up within minutes (settings were the same). I had to disable the "optimal" setting for system performance in the bios, which disables "PCI Master Read Caching" and "Delayed Transaction", but it now runs fine in all games. I'm not sure how these settings affect performance, but so far it's the only way to make my system stable, whether I overclock or not.
