Asus a7v + Win2k Pro + Geforce 2 gts conflicts!

My TBird 800 runs solid as a rock in all 2D applications, (diablo 2: direct draw) but it's never been stable in 3D (Quake 3, Alice, diablo 2irect 3D).
I can't remember all the fixes i've downloaded but i definetly did the via 4 in 1 and a couple microsoft fixes.

I'm running bios 1005a, did 1005c fix anything for anybody out there?

On an AMD FAQ site they suggested turning off APCI or changing the video timing variables. I haven't tried those things yet.

Anyone out there have any suggestions on what to do?

What directX are you using? If you are running directx 8 I would recommend you stick with directx 7.0 or 7.0a because a lot of games and video drivers does not support directx 8 yet. Try keeping slot1 and 2 open if possible. I think slot 1 shares with the AGP slot and slot 2 shares with the onboard ATA100 controller. I hope this information helps you.

Slots 1 and 2 are both open.

Does the directX download site still have 7.0?
The latest detonator drivers don't support DX8? This blows.

Zerohm, try going here. I used to have similar problems, but with Soldier of Fortune. Quake 3 would sometimes do it for me, but go ahead and give this a try. It works for me. Good luck.
