Asus A7V & Windows98

Hi all,

I'm about to throw my Asus A7V with 1.1GHz TBird in a window. I just did a fresh install of Windows98SE, and this stupid thing still won't wake up from stanby mode. Is it just me or it happens to other people ?

Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1
Intel 10/100+ Management Pro Adapter for my DSL
Adaptec 2940UW SCSI Card with Plextor 40Max and Yamaha 8x4x24
WD 20.5Gb 7200rpm hard drive, UTA66
Maxtor 19Gb (2x) 7200rpm hard drives, UTA66

Are there any specific settings in BIOS, any drivers which may help me ? Thank you so much in advance,

Look in the bios. I'm not sure because i haven't had any problems like that. Worse comes to worse clear the cmos.

Make sure all your drivers are up to date. Problems with waking are usually due to driver issues.

Try reserving IRQs for the SBLive in the A7V BIOS - IRQ 5 for SB Emulation, and then maybe IRQ 9 for the PCI Slot that you have the SBLive installed into. Also try latest NVIDIA Reference drivers (either official 6.31, or leaked 6.34).

I think some others had this problem (couldn't wake up from standby mode), and managed to find a fix - but I can't remember it off-hand. Maybe do a search in the forums, or if someone else can help?

There is a solution to this. You can search Here for help. You might try disabling power management in your bios also.

You can toss it in MY window if you want.
