Asus A7V133 Questions

I just installed Windows 98 SE Full

I have 1.2GHZ Tbird at 200 FSB
pc 133 256mb Sdram
Asus A7V133 Motherboard bios 1002a-1
IBM Deskstar 60Gig ATA 100 HD

I also disabled the jumped for the onboard sound
I fixed the driver for the Mass storage device

1) When I move files from CD-ROm to Hard Drive (Win 98 cabs) I get an error Explorer error and explorer shuts down and I have to reboot. This happens everytime.

2) I install my SB Live PCI card in slot 3 next to my NIC card in slot 4. I get two new Plug and play devices found. 1 of course is the SB Live, and then another one pops up "PCI INPUT DEVICE" Any idea what this is?

3) I just want to confirm that my ATA 100 Drive will not be listed in the bios or during bootup until it detects the promise software, where you will then see it listed as d0

I belive you are correct about #3. I helped my friend build a system with an A7V133 and ATA100 hard drive and it did the same thing. PCI input device is probably the game controller port on the sound card. When Windows detects all of the soundcard stuff just hit cancel for all of them. Then pop in the Creative Labs CD and run the setup.exe rather than installing drivers one by one through the new hardware wizard. This is how Creative instructs you on how to do it in the users manual.....you did read the manual didn't you?
