I just bought this board because my old nForce 4 mb was behaving oddly and causing BSODs every 5 minutes.
Now the damn BIOS on this ASUS board is driving me crazy. My RAM is specced 2-3-2-6-1T@200MHz. So if I set it 2-3-2-6, it really is 2-3-3-6.
If I set it 2-2-3-6, it says the BIOS is corrupt and i need to reflash it. I did.
Now I tried how far my CPU could go. 2600MHz was ready to go on stress testing (236MHz FSB)
But when I was testing ram, the comp rebooted when I set the fsb over 240mhz.
I tried clocking the ram from BIOS as an alternative. When I set 230mhz FSB, no POST. If I put on a divider to the ram (166mhz) It went to 240mhz, which is actually lower RAM freq, and said again the BIOS is corrupt and needs to be reflashed.
I took a break, and when I was about to reflash teh BIOS, the comp booted fine and asked me to fix my "failed OC".
Is this enough to RMA this damn thing?
Thanks if you actually made it this far
