ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe BIOS 1006 released!

I don't know if already posted but Asus has released new official bios v. 1006:

1.Fixed after resuming from S3, the CPU multiplier and CPU clock will be restored to default value if user overclock.
2.Fixed show wrong device (ZIP) on summary screen when PATA controller was disabled. It should show None.
3.Change the CHIP fan fail threshold RPM to fix sometimes POST will wrong show CHIP Fan fail Msg.
4.Update A8N-SLI Deluxe Logo.
5.Add Memory Re-map function SETUP Item.

It will "unoverclock" your system if you put it in standby mode when you resume?

haha, lol. so instead of fixing more pressing issue like 1:1 ratio with 1T HTT with FSB over 250, asus or should i say assus, goes and update their logo. Image is everything, screw the rest i guess. Looks like i'm going to leave asus soon. They don't bother to address my issue with SLI and updating bios. I know asus preaches about stability with their mobo and overclocking is irrelevant, but how can it be stable when i update bios and my SLI no longer works. sorry for venting, but asus should be called asucks.

Your link doesn't show a 1006 version BIOS. The highest they have available for DL is 1004. No 1005 or 1006 under Release or Beta DL sections....

I would say relax. I was right there with you until I contacted them myself and saw how much they really want to get everything resolved.

They were first to market are quick to respond to any emails I have been back and forth with their support all day. Do you think DFI and MSI won't have "their" problems. Give it time and you'll see this forum flooded with MSI and DFI issues. I would give it some time as I am. The A8N SLI is a good board, I just think it shipped a bit too soon that's all.

I had a great success overclocking my 3000+ to over 2.6GHz and found that when I added SATA drives I couldn't even get a lick over 2GHz. I don't know if my problem is comparable to yours but I still would say give em a chance Asus has a great rep for quality and service.

Over at HardOCP they were not singing the same song and dance about the DFI that everyone here at AT seems to. I don't know maybe they didn't get a good board but they couldn't get the DFI board to finish any 24 hour tests.

i'm a big fan of asus and i owned 4 boards from them including this nforce4 board. i will be glad to give my hard earned bucks to a vendor when i can get support from them for a product that they sell. i've emailed asus tech support for 4 days and not one single reply back. i think i got an answer to my problem thru this forum, but it sucks not hearing from them. i know i can call them, but i don't know what the wait time is like. by releasing new technology early and not fully testing it, shows that asus doesn't care much for its customers or fans. it's all about the money. i won't vent anymore and will stick with this board until dfi nforce 4 is cheaper.

My OC went down the tubes with 1006, and the 1007 beta.. then when I went back to 1004.. for some reason my OC went down the tube on that one too!

So I went back to 1003 lol, and I got my usual OC results back (2.45ghz on 3200+ week51)

asus said we'd get a perfect bios next week.. we'd better.
otherwise im ordering the DFI.

its been long enough to get more issues than this sorted out. esp for a huge company like asus.

Actually the DDR333 setting behaved a little better than previously. Even though my memory can run at 1T up to 220 mhz using the 1:1 divider, I could never get it to boot anywhere near 200 mhz memory speed using the DDR333 divider. With the 1006 BIOS, I was able to boot at 240 mhz FSB, 200 mhz memory, although it failed almost instantly in Prime95.

Also, with the 1006 BIOS, I was able to get Prime95 stability up to 225 mhz at 1T. However, I had to go from 250 mhz to 245 mhz to get Prime95 stability at 2T. I'm back to the 1004 BIOS now.
