I just bought one. They also have a bundle deal with free Halflife 2, Farcry, and Napster, but they put it together for you. I wanted an after market fan they don?t sell with the bundle. I should have got the games, but I?m weird like that. The bundle I think is a repost but I?ll link it anyway. Mother board alone is a good deal it may not be super hot, but a deal worth noting.

Motherboard Bundle

They say pretty good things about the motherboard here.

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe seems like a great board! I've been running it for a week!

The DFI nForce 4 is supposed to be a top choice for OCing, and the MSI nForce boards is also a top choice.

The Asus A8N SLI is a good board.

I ordered one, can't wait to get it. Are you running duel PE Graphics cards? I'm not going to but it will be nice to have that option.

being able to add a second video cards gives you a nice upgrade path and also let you have performance much higher then any single video card. but it really only makes sense for high end cards, as two midrange cards like 6600GT or 6800 will not even be as fast as a single 6800GT and cost at least as much, not to mention SLI works differently depending on the game - sometimes it doesn't improve performance that much. Also right now ATI has some really good value mid-high rangle cards which are not sli compatible, so you'll have to get the higher priced nvidia cards to keep the sli upgrade option open.

but regardless of the sli option, this board is SOLID - rock stable, great performance, and very good overclocking (but not nearly as good as the DFI board for overclocking). I was also impressed with the quality of the onboard audio - defintely more than acceptable, although if you want to maximize gaming performance you have to get audigy soundcard as the onboard audio takes up to 10% of system resources. Anandtech benchmarks, as well as Tom's Hardware, put the gaming performance of this board a little ahead of any other NF4 sli board (although results are pretty close for all of the NF4 boards). But it's not the fastest in all types of apps, again differences are small. Overall GREAT board, but DFI would be prefrable for extreme overclockers.

I agree 2 mid range cards will be slightly slower than one High End Graphics card. Not worth it in that sense and actually more expensive. As for me im going to be running 1 Leadtek 6600gt, that?s enough bang for my buck for now. Also this Chipset supports Dual core processors, which is a nice upgrade option for the future.

yep, 6600GT as a single card is by far the best value of any midrange card. BUT - for $100 more you can get the X800XL which is high end (even if not ultra high end) so it's performance is MUCH better when you use high resolutions and detail and quality settings. You see, graphics cards perform well up to a point where they reach their limitation and then their performance falls of drastically (that's why SLI sometimes more than doubles the frame rate in a specific test, because with a single card i the test went past the normal performance curve of the card). So anyway, the X800XL with its 250 MB and 16 pipes has much higher limits, thus it can run games at much higher resolutions and quality settings without reaching the point where its performance drastically falls off. So I think it's worth the extra $100.

I went with dual MSI 6600gt....and I agree with the comments on the advantage of a single high end PCIe card.

Based on 1 week of operation, the dual MSI 6600gt are good but perhaps not the best choice.

I'd spend a lot more time researching and pricing, and I might think about options like a single 6800gt, and purchase a second 6800gt later.
