No, the mobo temperature is NOT the Chipset temp. The mobo temp sensor is a sensor mounted somewhere on the mobo to monitor the ambient temperature. There is no chipset temp sensor on the Asus like DFI has. Basically there are three main sensors, CPU, Chipset and mobo. Asus has CPU and mobo, but no chipset. DFI has all of them, which they named the mobo temp as PMW IC. Don't fool yourself into thinking your chipset is running at 35c and it's way cool to unplug the fan. You will burn your chipset and the mobo temp will still be around 35c and you will kick yourself in the nuts for doing so.
