Please people, tell me your experinces with the various BIOS for this board. I'm using the 1010 and my system is very unstable, booting for no reason, crashing with games and video. My system was fine with BIOS 1006, but now returning to 1006 has not fixed my problems.

Try resetting the RTC(CMOS) jumper. I had the same kind of results after a bios flash on this board and resetting the CMOS fixed it. I upgraded to the SD3700+ a couple of weeks ago, so I have to use 1007 or latter, I've tried them all (1007-1010.001) and they all act exactly the same for me with the SD3700+. But with my Winchester 1004 was definately the best. 1006 and forward sucked with my Winchester. If resetting the CMOS doesn't help, try the 1004.

I installed BIOS 1004, reseted the jumper and my problems are still here. I notice that my Power Supply isn't generating 12 Volts, but 11.20 Volts. Could this be the problem?

I'd still get that 12v reading with a multimeter. My powerstream reads 11.92 on the board's BIOS sensor, but with a multimeter, I found it was pushing 12.1 volts.

Sensors are always off by varying degrees.

I guess 1007 does a perfect job most of the times. I am runnin' my machine at 2500 mhz with no problem at all. I think we all should wait till ASUS comes up with a very stable BIOS in the near future.

I was fine with my 1004 bios until I upgraded to 1010 a week ago. Since then my system has been very unstable. I rolled back to my good old 1004 and the problems continued. Tried clearing the CMOS and still nothing. So I went and bought the DFI that I have wanted for 3 months now but couldn't find any real reason to do it. I thought stability is more important than a few more Mhz of memory speed. Now I am running perfectly fine with the DFI, and I am wondering why all these months I believed that Asus could deliver the perfect bios. You guys are brave enough trying every sh1tty bios Asus releases. I just got fed of it! Good luck!

I just saw on the Abit website that they released a new board with SLI. My last board was an Abit, and was one of my best mobos. Anyone have heard about it?

Hey, I'm lucky finally, I used Detonator RIP and reinstalled 71.89 and now my problems are gone. I have no clue of what happened but it's all working now, with SLI enable. I'm using BIOS 1004.

I just discover that the reason of all my problems was the Azureus bitclient. If I try to play a game or a video while Azureus is running my system hangs. I don't know if is the software itself or the Java plataform, but the problems occur always when Azures is downloading or uploading. I'll change my bitclient and will do a few more tests.

Hi!
You should try these nVIDIA drivers 76.45 WHQL. Uninstall your slow official drivers (71.89), then run Driver Cleaner 3, then install these great drivers designed specially for Geforce6 series. They are faster and solve the overheating problem with 71.89.
Driver cleaner 3
Nvidia Graphics card drivers WHQL v76.45 (only for Geforce 6 series)

I'm running 71.89 with GF 6600GT, should I use that one too?

And I also have this mobo. Running revision 1002. I've never flashed a BIOS before, should I do it now?

Emultra, I think that if your mobo is working, don't flash the BIOS. It's always a risk business and can make your system unstable.

If your mobo is estable...and you can do your work without hangs and crashs. Mine was a mess, I couldn't play, work or watch a video, but I finally discover that Azureus was causing all those problems. I just uninstalled and start using another bitclient. If you flash your BIOS and start having trouble, but could return to your previous BIOS without problems, I would recommend the flashing, but there are lots of people saying that returning the BIOS didn't solve the problems. So I think it's worth waiting for ASUS to fix all the bugs before we flash our BIOS again.

Alright. Well, things have overall been working well. Playing games, browsing the net, watching videos etc.
