If you have 1007-004 already, you do not need to upgrade. As Asus wrote, no further changes were made and 1007-004 was released as final

I have an A8N deluxe rev1.02 and I'm waiting on a 3500 Venice core chip. Asus has stated that support for the Venice core is in bios 107. My question is will I be able to flash the bios with my 3500 Venice core chip installed? I know how to flash just don't know if I will run into problems on boot up with an early bios. Can anyone help?

I would think you'd be fine, it's just that without a BIOS supporting the CPU, the CPU will not run at the correct speeds - in other words, it will have very limited functionality until your BIOS is flashed.

I would not recommend using a BIOS that was not made for the board you have....but hey, if you want to guinea pig for us...

I can't get HTT higher than 235 with this bios regardless of what I do, even with mem divider and droping the CPU multi. The best OC I can get it 2350mhz

With 1004 I can get 2642mhz, and I can run HTT as high as 325mhz.. I guess I will have to wait for a better bios that supports the San Diego:disgust:. I would be really PO'd if I upgraded to the 3700+ and the best I could get was 235x11=2570mhz

I wonder whats different about my board/setup

I've isolated the HTT by running CPU and RAM at less than stock and still can't get over 235 with the 1007. 1006 was the same way.

I just used Asus update to flash my BIOS, should I reflash with the DOS utility? Where can i get this new 1.11 flash utility. I looked on Asus's website and they didn't have it?

Why don't you try using a divider? That will allow you to low your memory timings as well as increase the HTT and Cpu speeds!
System performance will be better for you!

Which nVidia drivers are you using?
Did you load the nforce IDE drivers?
Lan drivers?
NV firewall?

I,m thinking this bios isn't playing nice with the drivers I have loaded.

Someone was complaining that he flashed with an older flash version than asus recommended and said it didn't say anything about not using an older version of their software. I simply pointed out that he was wrong, just read their readme or index file on their site from the link in this thread.

My ASUS LiveUpdate is v6.05.01
- the newest one (it updates itself). As for the ASUS AWDFLASH v1.11, there is nothing on the ASUS site higher than 1.08, beta or final. Am I missing something??

I found this also. If you go to the Asus site and click through to the North American/US section and then to support etc., you can download the latest Bios (or earlier versions) and then just point the Update program to the downloaded file. For some reason, Autoupdate (in my case, anyway) is looking for new Bioses on Asus servers that aren't being kept up to date.
