I am building a new computer and have fully assembled it already.
The video card currently in there is a e-GeFroce 7600GS 256mb PCI-express.
On the first boot I am getting one long beep and two short beeps
Apparently, that means that there is a video card issue (pcguide beep code guide).
So i went an bought another PCI video card (not express) and I get the same beep code.

I get no video on the monitor but everything all the other hardware is running. The motherboard green LED is lit and all hard drives and cd drives are working.

What could be the cause of this.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

These are the system specs:

ASUS A8N SLI Premium MB
AMD Athlon 64 X2 +4400
EVGA e-Geforce 7600gs 256mb PCI-e with passive heat sink
2 x 1 GB Corsair XMS RAM
Enermax Liberty 500W Power Supply
WD 74gb 10k Hard Drive (Raptor)
Seagate 7200.9 300 GB Barracuda HD
NEC DVD RW

Is the video card fully seated in the PCI-express slot? Also it says in the manual if you are only using one video card then it need to be in the blue slot. You might also have to plug in the +5volt in the motherboard right next to the blue slot..

I have it connected in the blue slot and it's fully seated. Remember, I tried a new PCI video card as well and I got the exact same response(non-response)/problem.

There's a +5V next to the blue slot? All I see is the EZ Slot, PWR_FAN, and AUX.
Could I possibly have bought 2 damaged cards?

Make sure that all power connectors are fully seated.
Reseat the card.

If that does not work try your video card in another computer.
If it works in the other computer, then it might be time to RMA the motherboard.

Another thing that I had a problem with is that I had my mouse and keyboard PS/2 connections reversed and it would not boot.
