Asus A8N-SLI premium motherboard ram problems

The Asus A8N-Sli motherboard confuses me whats this I hear about not being able to use all 4 memory slots? is it just a problem with corsair memory, does it apply to intel motherboards too?

Yes isn't a waste if they have to run at 333mhz instead of 400?

Problems running 4 sticks have nothing to do with the motherboard. It is a limitation of the AMD 64 memory controller. With Rev E Venice cores you must run 2T but can run at 400MHz. Earlier cores also require a drop in speed to 333.

Asus is just confusing people with the DDR400 qualification list, as you just said it depends more so on the processor then the board. (kind of odd to put the mem controller on the proc instead of the board...)

No, they are running at 2T, but at 400MHz (2-2-2-5).

which bios are you using?
im running 1007 and it bumps me down to 333mhz..
400 doesnt work with any timing, i have to clear cmos everytime
im using an X2 4400+, its supposed to be fixed ;/

I was researching posts on the HP Lightscribe 640i when I stumbled on your post. Remarkably I am in the process of building a system almost identical to yours. Except using 500GB SATA drives and the cheaper AMD 64 X2 4400 CPU.

Out of curiousity, have you found any anomalies with your system or is there anything you would change?

I would really be interested in your input here!
