Asus has a solid offering with the A8R-MVP, and certainly any attention from them must be good for ATI on the chipset front. Asus fans partial to ATI have a good board to chose from, but those looking for a top overclocking experience may opt for the DFI board instead.

Thanks for the link Mem. I'm not really impressed with that board though. And I am not going to be doing a crossfire setup... Will we ever see a motherboard based on Radeon Xpress equivalent to a high performance NF4 Ultra motherboard?

Megatomic,I agree not too impressed with the Asus model,however I have high hopes for the Abit AT8 model,we shall see .

not a very well designed board. What's with the coloring and the dummy NF4 card that needs to be inserted into the slot? GOd forbid if you lose it.

Then you just stick a PCI E card of any type in I suppose. Anyhow, once we have a couple of more CrossFire boards we will bust out full benchmarks, and do in depth overclocking. Clearly Asus did not give it top billing in the lineup as DFI did. Of course DFI has far fewer boards to concentrate on. At any rate at least it is not using the SB450.

True enough. I am eager to see ATI Radeon XPress mobos with SB600, I may get one of those. I really would like to see Sapphire get their **** straight and get some motherboards in the shops here in the USA.

I have to agree that this mobo isnt all that exciting. I didnt like the passive cooling they have for the mobo. Like the reviewer stated ASUS didnt give this mobo the full enthusiast treatment like it has with previous mobos. I guess there will be a 'deluxe' and 'premium' version later on to make up for it.
