Asus engineers should at least release a beta/official new bios to fix the 1T command issue and also look into the limited vcore options as well.

It seems that they doing nothing. Not expecting DFI type of options but at least consider the minimal changes as described to allow the board to perform up to expectations.

can anyone send a copy of the BIOS my way please?

BTW I cant run dual channel RAM on mine. I have Corsair value ram, 2 sticks of 512. Any one have any suggestions? Do you put the ram on the blue slots right?

New Bios opens up new memory multipliers, no new voltage options.

Good news is that I am priming my 170 @ 2.6ghz where before I was getting instant prime errors at the same settings.

So what is the CPU voltage limmited to?

My Opteron 165 is limited to 1.4v + "Overvolt" of .07v.

I know it is not as accurate as a MultiMeter, but SpeedFan is showing 1.41v under full load, sometimes going down to 1.39v.

Opteron 165 has a max multiplier of 9x, 170 is 10x, etc.

I got the new BIOS, although the options are there for new memory multipliers, they don't seem to actually DO anything, when I look at the POST screen, anything below 200MHz will show the correct DDR freq, but anything above 200MHz multiplier simply has POST screen at DDR400, I have some mushkin DDR500 ram so I know it's not the ram. Also, no memory tests I do for bandwidth and latency change once I go above that 200MHz multiplier. I read on AT review that it was "unofficially" supported, and I have a x2 4800+, so I don't know what to do. Any verification of my obersvation or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This board sucks. I had it Prime-16-hours-rock-stable on 290x9with my Opteron 146. Now I put PCI TV card in it and I get BSOD every 10 minutes. I even put it down on 250x9 and I still get BSOD. They urgently need new BIOS. The last one is pure crap

ATI fixes PCI frequency in the chipset, so this sounds like it could be a power issue. What Power Supply are you using to drive your system?

This broad really sucks....
yea, overvoltage doesnt work (i don't see any program that CAN corrct tell the real voltage, even the ASUS itself can't!)
I am trying undervoltage, when i first boot up this machine, the default voltage is 1.45V for an A64 3200+ Rev.E3... What the ....? so i m trying to make the Vcore 1.35V to make it cooler(no O/C)....but none of the options worked!it still running 1.45V...sigh...

2nd problem, the memory clock doesnt work totaly for me! i got a OCZ EL plantinum 1GB*2 Dual stick 2-3-2-5 DDR400....however,it is LOCKED to be run at DDR333 by the motherbroad, none of 100,133,183,200...etc mode worked!

Last one, isnt that the HT Link speed is 1G for A64 without O/Cing? i m assuming that it is equals to 5X in nVidia MB..

Another disapointment from ASUS...never get ASUS stuff again...

I have the board since yestarday and face same problem with voltage - my tops at 1.35v with or without overvoltage cpuz shows 1.35v so on levels CPU was working flalesly befor on A8N SLI Delux now superPI gives "NOT exact in round"
can some one help me to increase to 1.4 - 1.45v in order to gain stability
PSU is OK as it is Fortron 700W

Dont rely on CPU-Z, it does not seem to detect voltages correctly. Try using ASUS Probe or SpeedFan which both seem to do a better job than CPU-Z at this point.

You are right. they both show 1.4-1.42v , but obviosley it is not enough

Definately not enough. I would love to be able to push my 170 to ~ 1.55v to see how much higher it will go.

Guys on XtremeSystems forums are volt-modding the board with success, but I am not willing to do that if ASUS can just give us a Bios with the proper options.

I had bought this board to be used with my first computer build but now I'm seriously considering trying to sell it and getting something else. it seems this board is having a lot of issues and it worries me that it might not all be corrected through bios updates. Its a shame cause it seemed like a great cheap board for overclocking.

I finally got the board and my opt 165 and I haven't been able to prime test it yet but it boots into windows and seems to be stable. I've run the sisoft sandra burn in test for whatever is worth. I have it set to HTT 290 and have the memory set to 133mhz, vcore is set to 1.375 with overvolt on. Asus probe reports the voltage as between 1.42 and 1.46. Memory is running at 2-2-5-8 and I believe it's running at 1t. At least, when it was at 2t the sisoft sandra memory benchmark was only about 4400 mb/s and at 1t it jumped to 5700 mb/s. It would be a shame if it failed prime 95 though, it seems to be doing so well. cpu temp has not increased more than 45 C.
