newegg.com currently has this mobo in stock at 152 dollars and im wondering if its the revision 2. Also i know that in the revision 2 the agp/pci lock works but what does a agp/pci lock do?

I'll take a stab at it pigeon kicker,

From what little I know (and I must admit I know very little) I'm guessing that they are NOT the 2nd revision boards that everyone wants.

It seems some people have the pci/agp lock feature on their earlier boards, though it seems board/bios specific, and from all the posts I've been reading, I haven't been able to glean anything official about Asus releasing the revision board yet.

Mind you, I'm new to all this and a 1st time builder, so I could be way off base here, but until someone says "It's official" (and preferably show a link to someone from Asus saying it), I think I'll hold off on getting the board.

This from Anandtech's "Doom Buyer's Guide" :

The Asus Revision 2 is not yet in the market, but should be available in the next couple of weeks. The A8V that we have seen for sale are still the original revision, which performs quite well at stock, but does not have a completely reliable AGP/PCI lock. If overclocking doesn't matter, then the current A8V is an excellent choice, but if you want to overclock, wait for the A8V Revision 2.

interesting... thanks for the info Ultraman. I guess ill either wait for the MSI K8N Neo 2 board or the Asus Rev 2. Say does anyone know when the MSI K8N Neo 2 is gonna come out?

I received an Asus Socket 939 A8v Delux WiFi board last week from newegg. I think it arrived Thursday -- I was traveling. As far as I can tell, it is revision 1.02 (cpu-z says 1.xx). I am running an FX-53 with this board and do not plan to overclock. That system is a work computer. I set it up earlier today, and I am very happy so far. Interestingly I currently have 4 sticks of BH-5 memory running at 6-2-2-2: 2x512 Corsair and 2x256 Mushkin. So far it is rock solid.

does anyone know when the MSI K8N Neo 2 is gonna come out?

Actually, I pre-ordered one on the 2nd of this month. At that time Monarch Computer said ETA was the 9th, however, it recently changed to the 27th (yikes! )

I think Zipzoomfly might carry them soon as well, they say the 13th, but I doubt it.

I read somewhere that Monarch sent an email to a poster saying that the ship carrying them was enroute, would hopfully arrive by the 17th, and that they would ship then.

I'm not holding my breath.
