Asus AI Suite II

I have an ITX setup with the following components:

• Cse: Lian-Li PC-Q11B Mini-ITX Tower
• PSU: Seasonic SS-300ES ATX
• Mob: P8H67-I Deluxe LGA 1155
• Bio: AMI 8/30/11 0603
• CPU: Intel Core i3-2100T Sandy Bridge 2.5GHz LGA 1155 35W stock cooler
• Mem: Kingston 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Laptop
• HDD: WD Caviar Black 1.5TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb
• ODD: Plextor PX-L890SA

What is the best way to measure temperature? I'm looking to see if my case is adequately ventilated. I don't overclock.

Currently I am using Asus' AI Suite II to measure. This issue has been somewhat addressed here and here. The second poster mentions the difference between Tcase and Tjunction by Asus here. They also mention taking into account the "idle command" here.

This is quite a bit of info. Which temperature should I use and which program should I use to measure that temperature? If I have not RTFM, please let me know.

Should I uninstall ASUS Suite II? Will having both conflict?

I have AI Suite II and HWMonitor installed (along with other monitoring software) and have not had any conflicts. Don't trust the temp reading in AI Suite though they are not that accurate.

You can use both at the same time, but I would trust HWmonitor's readings more.

Yeah the only thing I use AI Suite for is to mess with my fan profiles and another verification on voltages, seems pretty close on voltage, the temp reading are usually close at idle but under load they are way off. At least that is what I have observed.

In HWMonitor I just pay attention to the processor temps and (core temps and package temp), the other temps (SYSTIN, CPUTIN, AUXTIN, etc.) may or may not be accurate (most likely they are not accurate), HWMonitor has not been updated to read the sensors properly on some of the new hardware. How hot is too hot depends on what you have for a CPU. I also use Core Temp to verify temps (Core Temp has a nice desktop gadget you can use too). Also for voltages in HWMonitor only pay attention to the CPU VCORE, the other voltages (3.3v, 5v, 12v, etc.) will be off just like some of the temp readings. I find it good practice to use multiple programs to keep an eye on temps and voltages, that way you know you aren't just trusting buggy or not up to date software.

I see you have an Intel Sandy Bridge CPU, I would try to keep it under 70C, just to be on the safe side. I am unfamiliar with SB though, as I have IB. If you are not overclocking it you shouldn't have any problems though.
