Big loud and fancy. Badass to the core. But If I gotta spend a G on anything it is going to be something that gets the pantys off. This is not a panty dropper unless she is a megagamming nerd and the odds of a super hot gamming nerd are, well, small.

If only to edify our interest, this appears to be pretty much the pinnacle of performance for this generation from ATi.

Disappointing scaling and I doubt there will be much effort making driver optimizations for this kind of setup.

Why did they use old drivers? ATi cards are running Cat 10.3 and Nvidia cards are running 195.62. Wha?

Wiz is getting notorious for not updating his drivers. He's taken quite a bit of heat for it too.

His reason is he doesn't have the time to go back and retest every card in his comparisons (he posts comparative data on a lot of cards.) every time there's a new driver release. He'd rather do tests that are comparable with his established data. He also won't use beta drivers unless it's all that's available or the current WHQL drivers have a show stopping bug.

The MB used in the crossfire review would be functioning at x16/x8 given the size of the card (he would have had to use the x8 slot and not the second x16. I'd be hesitant to assume there is much bottlenecking but these scaling values are lower than the last 5970 scaling I have looked at.. this would be akin to using a 5870 in an x4.

People should wait for the new ATI chip instead put that much on a card.

5970 is juicy but soon it will be a after thought.
when the 6xxx series emerges...

I thought the scaling left a lot to be desired. Those aren't impressive results for that kind of coin.

Damn that scaling when the cards already pushing 300fps. My main complaint is exactly that, why even get performance numbers below 2560x1600 without atleast 16xssaa? Isn't that the whole point of cards like these, didn't even test eyefinity in the xfire one...

Personally, I don't see the point of lower resolutions with a card like this. I'd imagine people paying +$1000 for a card don't have a ~$350 monitor. (I know not all 1920*1200 monitors are that cheap, but typical consumer ones are.) This card needs to be compared to other cards at 2560*1600. That and show eyefinity resolutions. Not doing so isn't really giving anyone a lot of useful info, IMO.
