Any posters out there got an inside line on when the ASUS Blitz boards are going to show up in stores? I find it interesting that ASUS USA doesn't even show them on their site, only the Taiwan site. And the US site has a couple of P35 boards I've never heard of: P5KC, P5K64 (workstation)?

CHF= Swiss Franc, and those prices would be $330.00 - $390.00 USD. Kinda pricey!

Hey Old Hippie (I'm one of the brethren, too), correctomundo, CHF is swiss franc.
Yeah, pricey, but that price is on a par with the Extreme series. One model will be the Formula, without water-cooling. Hopefully it'll get under the 'three stones' threshold. Should drop further when the P38 chipset comes out later this summer. Thanks for the info. MM

I've done some further research after first posting this thread. For those insterested, I found an Aussie reviewer that got an early peek at the boards. Pix posted here.

An UK vendor is taking pre-orders on the boards, which should be due out around Aug. 3. Price is about $340 US (converted, VAT inclu) for the Formula.

The only site I can find them listed on is ZZF, but of course they have them as out of stock.

I called ZZF and they told me nobody should have them because ASUS has not delivered those. Expecting to be available this end of month or early next month.

Reply from a staffer on the NCIX Forum:

"Terren - NCIX.com
Aug 21, 2007 04:51 PM

there was some sort of delay in Taiwan so we're looking at another 2 weeks for this"

They originally thought it was going to show on Monday of this week.

McCloud777: if you read the reviews, which are numerous now, everyone raves about this board, esp. with respect to overclocking stability and layout. Considering that the P5K Deluxe is only about $30 bucks cheaper, and with a seriously flawed layout, I consider the price a bargain. Original estimates were that the board would be in the 300+ range. Of course, I also just bought a P5N-E, which is a popular overclocker and has good features, (including FireWire), for half that price. File it under "escalating madness"!!

Still no word on the Blitz? I signed up for notifications from both ZZF and NCIX, no love.

I did the same. However, you should check ClubIt, as they seem to have the most up-to-date info. Last week, their Formula listing showed an ETA of 9-6. Of course, as that day drew near, yesterday they changed the ETA to 9-14. I'm beginning to think it's all illusory and the thing doesn't really exist. To make it even more curious, I have since seen a posting for ANOTHER Blitz model labled "Maximus Formula" seen here. And hey!, I met this guy who says he's got some lake front property he wants to sell and all you gotta do is ....

Well, ClubIT has them in stock now but for $299. I don't think its worth the price though. But they will knock off a whole $10 if you buy a Q6600 with it.

That's the Extreme model (DDR3 only), the formula will be $270, and still backordered. $10 cheaper at NCIXUS, if it ever really shows.

bka4u2c: that's also where I bought my Quad because they're one of the few vendors that would guarantee GO stepping, along with a nominal shippinig charge. Give 'em some love.

Oops, I didn't even notice that was extreme and not the formula. I get ClubIT emails for sales and saw it in the advertisement. I guess I was so excited to finally see one in stock somewhere I didn't even notice. Only if DDR3 wasn't so darn expensive.

Interesting. I think the "Maximus" is an x38 board tho, not a p35 like the bleetz.

I read somewhere too (Forget where, here, or maybe HH or ocp) that DDR3 is really wasted on the P35, something about it only supporting 1333. Sounds like either an x38 or the Formula are the way to go, imo.

At this rate, it feels like we'll be waiting 'til Christmas. It wouldn't surprise me if the release of X38 chip boards don't beat the arrival of the indiscernible Formula. Then Nehalem will be right around the corner, so might as well wait for that, and then....
