man guys take the pissing contest somewhere else I am just trying to keep an eye out for deals not Jibba Jabba.
1. The deal was in the first post, you didn't have to come down here looking for it.

2. This isn't a pissing contest, there's no crap talking, it's an intelligent discussion regarding the merits of two manufacturer's lines of video cards.

3. I've found the discussion highly interesting. I don't have the time to follow PC hardware like I used to, especially in regards to video cards since I don't have time to play games anymore, so I enjoyed the education. I'm sure others have as well.

4. The discussion is not only relevant to this deal but all other recent video card deals.

Just a heads up. At this point I don't believe this deal from Superbiiz will include the V2 heatsink shown in the OP. The V2 version has dual DVI ports, 8mm exposed heatpipes and identical fans. The one listed by part number at Superbiiz and also the photos they have show the original version with the original heatsink. It has a single DVI connector, 6mm heatpipes, a smaller radiator and two different fans. It's a little louder and a little warmer.

I don't believe this takes away much from the deal but it should be mentioned because I'm certainly hoping for the newer version two. To confirm, I'll let you know which one I receive when my package shows up.

Here are photos of the V1 and V2 heatsinks.

Edit: I just noticed the OP shows photos of both versions of the card as well. Look closely. Some photos show just one DVI connector and an exhaust grill that extends all the way across the mounting bracket. (That's the original version of the card.) and then some of the photos show the newer style with stacked dual DVI connectors and a smaller exhaust grill.

.

Yep I got the second one with the copper color pipes. I don't care though, I'm sure this with the game is a better deal than the newer version.

EDIT: looks to be ~$240 AR + shipping on newegg

Today, I received the older style V1 card as well. And it doesn't bother me one bit either. Using CCC, real quick, I got it to 1220/1450MHz and it hauls ass in Secret World and Guild Wars 2, the two primary games I'm playing right now. (1920x1200 everything as high as it can go except for TXAA in Secret World.)

It does kind of toasty (72C in GW2) and the fans do get fairly loud which surprises me. The V1 card does use two different kinds of fans, the V2 uses two of the same kind of fan. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's the fan that was replaced that's making all the noise. I slowed that fan down with my finger and the sound level got much better.

But anyway, great deal and a great card. 89.6 ASIC Quality! (I have no idea what that means.)

Sorry guys I wasn't aware that there was a V2 version of this card. With hundreds of cards on the Internet, it's hard to keep up with Revision 1 vs. 2 for a particular brand. I hope the card worked out for you though. The price now went up to $228.

If the noise levels are bothersome for some, feel free to set up a custom fan profile. I find it has helped me for many of my cards. 72*C is still a good temperature which has leeway to lower fan speed a bit. Also, I have changed the pictures in the original post.

I guess this model is Mfr Part Number: HD7870-DC2-2GD5 instead of ASUS HD7870-DC2-2GD5-V2

Thanks!

The higher the ASIC quality on AMD cards, the better they are for air cooled overclocking. The lower the number is, the better the card is for water-cooling or LN2 overclocking. You got a very good binned chip right there. On Nvidia cards the ASIC quality reading with current 0.6.4 version of GPU-Z is wrong as it reports 100% for most cards.

I can understand why a high ASIC score is associated with lower voltage/temp and higher overclockability; but why is a low score good for water-cooling? And what would be consider a bad score?
