Asus ipanel vs. Digidoc-5

Hi......The Digidoc is available at hardcorecooling.com and is explained fairly well there. The ipanel is at newegg and as u may have noticed, they dont offer much of a description. Price is really not an issue. Neither are the front usbs of the ipanel.

So, my question is which one does a better job of heat and voltage monitoring? Please do let me know if u have had any experiences with either of them. Thnaks. Even better would be an article in which these are compared. If u know of a better product of this nature, i would be interested in that as well. Thanks.

The DD5 will do a much better job of temperature and voltage monitoring. The Asus I Panel is a much more basic unit than the DD5. With the DD5, you get 8 thermal sensors..flat and round type, and you can monitor and individually turn on and off up to 8 fans. Another nice thing is that the DD5 can even handle having multiple high draw fans like the 130CFM 120mm YS Tech hooked up to it. IT also reads the +5V and +12V lines right from the PSU.

If you want temp monitoring go for DD5... if youre just really obsessive and u want to watch your voltages... get an iPanel. I have one and it sucks... theres a bug where whenever it updates itself (every 30 secs) MP3s skip... or game skips for that one second. So i have to turn the auto update off... meaning if i want to check temps i have to cycle through like 12 monitors just to check cpu temp. Bah. But it does give voltage figures... speed...mobo temp... cpu temp...blah blah blah... and its only $20.

Thanks a lot, i do wanna watc my voltages, etc. but i imagine the skipping gets super annoying. too bad, good price on that unit. Digidoc it is...thx ppl

any chance someone can tell me how to disable the auto check of the asus ipanel ?

2 new options apeared in the bios in the i/o device configuration :

1: "i-panel hot-key mapping " with options : group1, group2, group3, group4.

2: "ipanel update timer" with option : enable, disable.



if the second option is wath you are talking about, well, it did not work for me...
another thing, i experience no glitch in games or mp3 playback, but
plz help, all of my avi files plays for 2 min than the sound desapear... ( quite nasty to play divx....)

What kind of motherboard do you have? Im guessing you should update your bios... if you have a CUSL2/CUSL2-C by any chance... go check out cusl2c.com if you dont well check it out anyway as they have a forum specifically for the iPanel.

I have the I Panel on a CUSL2-C motherboard and it works ok, however, there have been reports that it causes "stuttering", (momentary system stops). I have not experienced this trouble with mine.

Its only noticeable when playing MP3s... or games... i dont know if that thing has to interrupt the I/O system just to check the damn temp. can't really notice it if you're just doing work. maybe you have it off already? but it updates itself and there's no stutter? wow... i guess you're an exception.
