Asus K40AD Athlon II M300

Hey guys, recently got an Asus K40AD with specs:
Amd Athlon II x2 M300 (2.0ghz)
Ati mobility radeon 4570
2x2gb ddr2-800 ram
320gb hdd
Windows 7 64-bit pre-installed

Been wondering which program correctly displays cpu frequency. CPU-z reports it at 800mhz (x4 multiplier) even during load. CoreTemp on the other hand displays it at a constant 2.0ghz. How does the multiplier automatically change for these mobile athlon IIs? This is my first laptop so forgive my noobness.

What version of CPU-z are you using?
CPu-z still doesn't have support for the mobile "caspian" AMD CPUs. however, even CPU-z should show the processor switching speed.
How are your power schemes configured?

Sorry for not updating and thanks for your reply.
Here's the case, the power scheme I've been using was the Power4Gear Hybrid which apparently is bugged. Switching between power schemes doesn't change clock settings even when the cpu is loaded. Solution was to just use the standard power schemes and not the Power4Hybrid. It now displays full 2.0ghz during load and 800mhz on idle.
