My parents have the i3 version of this system with the same ACbel PSU, and it only pulls 80w at the wall running OCCT. That leaves 200w of headroom before you hit the PSU's realistic limit of 283 watts.

Long story short: You could run a GTX970 in this with that PSU. The GPU has a 148w TDP and the overall board power is about 175w for the reference design. Some overclocked cards might push 200w, but even then you are relatively safe.

Just sayin'. I like to run my PSU's near the max, it's ultimately more efficient than running a 800w PSU at 5% load the majority of its life like A LOT of uninformed people do. Even a system like this with a GTX970 wouldn't crack 35% load on a 800w PSU.

The most optimal PSU size for single-GPU PC's running Intel CPU's is ~450w, give or take 20% for wiggle room, number of hard drives, extra PCIe cards, etc.

I personally run a 650w with dual GTX770's in a heavily overclocked i7 PC. No issues, can't even crack 600w at the wall with everything maxed. I honestly don't know what the hell all these 800-1000w PSU's are for.

Alright, Let me make this clear:
OPENING UP YOUR PC AS LONG AS IT IS RETURNED IN ORIGINAL CONDITION WILL HONOR YOUR WARRANTY - Rodel
I personally purchased this unit and put a EVGA GTX 960 4GB SSC into here with a EVGA 500 watt and along with 8 gb of crucial ram and it is running smoothly as i am typing on here Planning to upgrade the mother board to a Maximus VIII Hero Alpha so i can overclock it. Anyways, hopefully it isnt confusing regarding this.

Well, ignoring the fact that BIG RED TYPE impresses me about as much as posts WRITTEN ENTIRELY IN CAPITAL LETTERS, I don't see how that clarifies anything. I don't know who you are or where you got that quote (and/or who "Rodel" is supposed to be), but the mere fact that you bought one and installed a video card means nothing until you try to get warranty service on that machine.

According to the warranty statement linked on the product page (which doesn't even appear to be an official one from Asus, which I could not easily find on Asus's actual website), nothing seems to have changed:

"Warranty invalid if disassembly by end user or non-ASUS-authorized repair centers."

If and when Asus someone posts a link to a written statement to the contrary on Asus's own website, I will be convinced...

Alright then, Rodel is the Customer Loyalty Specialist who Works at ASUS International who is reffered to over @Amazon as the MANUFACTURER. If you look at the reviews section you will see some happy and sad costumers. This in particular is A unit that failed on arrival. And the Tech Support claimed that it would violate the warranty. BUT, I ask you who would you trust more? Someone who works at ASUS International who has the trust of ASUS to have a job that is supposed to provide a "consistently positive emotional experience" Or would you trust the regular ASUS Support who could of been hired by another company that gives the employees a smaller paycheck. I think the choice is obvious.

UPDATE: I found on amazons website there was a warranty policy, Oddly directly on ASUS Live chat support, they said that the warranty sticker did NOT matter. Shown here: http://imgur.com/8y8Suw2
