In short, my mobo got fried recently thanks to a thunderstorm. I am looking to get a new mobo on a VERY tight budget that will be compatible with all of my current components. I never used the OC features or any of that on my old board, so I'm really not worried about features like that. So long as it performs the same as my old board for a modest price, I'm game. Here are my specs:

motherboard - ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
cpu - AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor ADX250OCGQBOX
ram - Crucial 4GB (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)
video card - EVGA GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16
hard drive - Western Digital Caviar RE WD1600YS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
psu - XCLIO Goodpower 500w
sound card - Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card
cpu cooler - Rosewill RCX-Z940-SL 92mm 2 Ball

Any suggestions on an affordable mobo that will fit the bill would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you, but my only concern there is reviews on that one seem questionable.

Here are a few I found on Newegg, but I'm really not familiar with what a lot of the numbers on the descriptions really mean:

The reviews on all of these seem decent, but I really don't know how much of a difference there is between them. The two I was leaning towards was the Gigabyte or the MSI ones, since they seem like the best bang for the buck, but idk?

If a thunderstorm zapped your motherboard, are you sure your power supply and other components work?

I would imagine your power supply would take the brunt of the electrical surge coming in.

I was wondering if you are upgrading to a new cpu as well or keep it?
Your CPU is only AM3.

I want to upgrade my CPU eventually, but right now, I don't have the extra money. In fact, I really don't have the money for a mobo either, but since I do some side work on my computer, I don't have much of a choice.

Well, the surge seemed to come through my ethernet/cable line, so it doesn't seem like my surge protector was the problem. It fried my modem, fried my router, and messed up the desktop too.

The power supply does power up and gets all the components (fans, LEDs, etc.) running, but it just wasn't popping up the display. I do know for sure the mobo is fried, because my friend noticed a burnt spot on the mobo where something blew. I'm hoping other components didn't get fried as well, but the mobo is definitely one that has to be replaced.

Ok, well I have the mobo, but my old one had a 4-pin ATX 12V plug, whereas this new mobo has an 8-pin. My PSU doesn't have an 8-pin plug for it, so not sure what to do at this point? Searched the web and couldn't find anything.

Thanks for the information. I'm thinking it might need all pins powered, because when i try to boot it up, it doesn't even make the default beep from the mobo. Powers up, fans come on, video card fan comes on, so power is there, but no beep and no video at all.
