Hey guys....
I just recently bought the ASUS N6J1 Notebook from Amazon.com and so far everything is great, but there is one little thing that is bothering me. My hard drive has two disk drives, the C drive and than the DATA drive. However my C drive has less space than my DATA drive...I always thought it was the other way around. My C drive has 74.5GB and my DATA drive has 206GB. I just wanted to know if that was normal? Or maybe if there's a way I can combine them or if I even should combine them....I'm just kind of lost on what to do...Cuz I don't know whether to save stuff on my C drive and/or DATA drive? Any insight would be grateful, thanks.

What you have is a drive partitioned into two. C is the OS drive, and the othert should be D:\. You say DATA - is that the drive designation in Windows?

You should save stuff on the DATA drive.

If you want to recombine them, you'll need either: 1) A partition resizer tool; or (2) Use the Asus recovery tool to recover your system to the entire drive instead of having it split into two partitions.

My Asus laptop came like that (40GB OS, 60GB Data), but I used the recovery tool one of the times I reformatted to just set it to have one big C: instead of the C/D stuff.

But as to where to save stuff: You may be able to redirect your "My Documents" folder to point to a spot on the Data partition, to make it easier to organize and save everything in one place.

Just use your win7 disk management either to resize or creat partition.
( Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management )

It is fairly easy, no need to get third-party software.
