Hey All,

I just purchased a new asus p4b266 board, p4 1.6, and antec 300 watt power supply. i set everything up and i press the button, and nothing happens...nothing. i hear a click from the power supply, the green light by the pci slots is on, and nothing happens.

Anyone have any clues? dead supply? dead board? i'm lost...the fan doesn't even go on, nothing works...but the damn green light on the board.

HELP!!!

Thanks in advance,
scottiej

make sure nothing is grounding on the back of the board, extra stand off or something, some times motherboards are shipped with the cmos jumper set to clear to save battery life so check that too, beyond that, yank any cards not needed for bootup it's always a good idea to start with minimum amount of hardware 1 stick of ram, video, and drives to isolate problems

did you run through the checklist? also did you make sure that you hooked the power button up to the right pins? are you sure the heatsink fan is plugged into the right header (I know on my kt7a the computer won't start unless there is a fan hooked up to the fan header 1)

Just to let you know.... I have the EXACT same problem with my P4B266/P4 1.7 - everything is hooked up correctly, but nothing happens when the system is clicked on except for the damn green LED! I'm at the point where I'm assuming the power supply or the case (Codegen) must be hosed. Let me know if you've had any breakthroughs on this one. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one this problem.

Thanks!

Cool.

If any other users have issues starting their Socket 478 Pentium 4 motherboards, I'll recommend them to first check their CMOS battery.
