ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe

Troubleshooting a new PC build. Cannot get a display using ASUS P4C800-E deluxe board in conjunction with ASUS CT-479 adaptor and 2.0 GHZ Pentium M. Can get a display if I put a P4 in place instead. Not sure if the Pentium M is faulty. Does anyone know if a BIOS update is essential to get the M chip working with this mobo.

You should update the BIOS to the latest version anyways.

I know, except without a display I cant do it. I can only leave the P4 in for a few seconds. Its out of a Dell and the heatsink and fan will not attach to the ASUS board. I aim to get my hands on these but if anyone knows whether the BIOS update is essential, that would allow me to get a bit of sleep until I get the heatsink and fan.

iirc you need at least bios version 1021 for the ct-479 adapter.

Idont think it has that but I have downloaded the latest BIOS for it along with the Afudos update tool. What does "double post" refer to?

Any idea what BIOS version the board ships with?

Thats sorted. Got a heatsink for the P4 and updated the BIOS. Put in the M chip after that and it booted fine.
