Asus P4C800-E/P4P800-E Deluxe

In looking at the following specs I'm confused as to what combinations can be used. Can someone clear this up. The information seems to be the same on both Asus mobo's (P4C800-E and P4P800-E)

ICH5R South Bridge:
-2 x UltraDMA 100/66/33
-2 x Serial ATA, RAID 0,1 function
Promise 20378 RAID controller:
-1 x UltraDMA 133 support two hard drives
-2 x Serial ATA
-RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1, Multiple RAID

I plan to go to SATA drive soon but want to use my existing hard drives as ghost images. So can the South Bridge ports be used in conjunction with the Promise Ports?

Scenario would be:

2 optical drives ( Plextor DVD-R and Plextor CD-R) on the South Bridge 100 UltraDMA ports.

2 ATA hard drives on the Promise 133 UltraDMA.

2 SATA drives on either or (Promise/South Bridge) but not connected in raid. Reason being I don't want to lose my data drive or system drive because one or the other failed. Can this part be done is the second part of this question.

Yes yo can conect those four drives. probably by the time you read this you already made it. You can have up to 6 hDs.

Thanks for the reply. No I haven't done anything just yet, I did set the BIOS after I found it to do just that. However, I've been so busy with laying floor tile, gardening, fishing, cycle riding, painting and heck the list just goes on that I haven't had time to explore the HD situation, oh I also sleeved my power supply and cables, at least I got that done.

So now, I have some free time, I will go and find the manual and see what other trouble I can get into.
