Plz need some simple advice. Thugsrook - I'm sure you know this
I'm going for ASUS P4G8X.
The only issue remaining is the memory option:
1) 256+256 WINBOND DDR400, which is quite cheap but hits 2-2-2-5 @400+Mhz easily, - so this means I'll sure have 2-2-2-5 @266 Mhz. But I'm gonna have hard time finding it here (no Mushkins & Corsairs in Moscow, sorry
2) 256+256 Kingston DDR266, which is even more cheap, but I'll have to stay at its regular timings (or, given its price, I'll even go for 512+512).
My question is (forget about the price factor): does this 2-2-2-5 thing give me ANY substantial gain in performance? I'm not an overclocking fan, so if it's like only +2-3% gain - I'd rather go for Kingston.
I mostly use PC for Internet, Photoshop, Word, RtCW, Q3, DOOM3
Are there any CL'n stuff benchmarks available?
Thx!
