Asus P4s533 @ Newegg

Anyone know why Newegg pulled this board off there site ?

I was wondering the same thing? Wonder if they are just out? When they were out of Gainward Ti4200's last week they just pulled it clear off. I am ready to order my system soon and hope they get more in.

Hey guys,

Hold off on these boards. I just ordered one from Newegg and I ended up RMA'ing it. I think there is an issue with these boards not working properly. I would wait until the second allotment arrives or the new Soyo 645DX comes out. My 2nd motherboard (the one I got as a replacement) comes in tomorrow so I'll install it and tell you guys how it works out.

Thanks peroxide for the heads up. I knew some people have had problems but I thought it was due to having not a big enough power supply. I may just go with a P4b266 or P4s333 if they dont get this fixed and some new boards in. I know those 2 have had far less problems it seems. Curious to hear if your 2nd one is better. Good luck.

Their is no problem with the board I would say as many people that is getting it they are out, Put one together over a week ago and had no problem other than changing out the 350 watt power supply for a 430 and working on one now with no problems

I have heard others say the same....I have a 420 watt power supply so I was hoping I would be OK. Maybe there will be a new allotment soon? Makes it a tough call.

The Asus P4S533 is still on Newegg. I ordered one yesterday. Just checked and it's still there...OEM $99 + $6 Fedex Express shipping.

Ive had no problems with my P4S533 since day one, I started with a Enermax 431w unit though.

My P4s533 works flawlessly. I had some trouble with the lan, but I had messed something up. It works great now. And I am *only* using a 330 watt PSU. I think that the perceived problems with the P4s533 involve a lot of noobs getting this board at the same time and posting their problems everywhere. I am guilty as charged, of course.

I got my p4s533 on Tuesday. It is running a 1.6a overclocked to 2.4 at stock voltage with an Antec 300W psu.
I've been running Prime 95 for hours at a time and Looping 3Dmark. It has not crashed yet. I'm very happy with this board

Hey guys,

I just got my RMA motherboard from newegg. This time its a RETAIL box and it works beautifully. One very teeny tiny gripe I have is that the standby button in Windows XP is greyed out. I think it maybe a ACPI/Motherboard issue, so hopefully it will be resolved. If you guys have any insight on the issue, please let me know. If anyone else has questions regarding the installation of this motherboard, I will be more than happy to assist

Peroxide, isn't there a setting in the BIOS to enable standby? I have the board but am running 98SE and it came up without having to check.

Very cool. I dunno if you'll have the same problem but I had to be extra careful when installing my AGP card. The inner portion of the TV Out connector came very close to one of the mobo's onboard audio connectors. Be gentle with it and it should be fine. But like I said, you may not have this problem depending on your video card

As for the board itself, I fired it up and it came up perfectly the 1st time. Absolutely no problems at all. My HD, Lite-on burner and DVD drives, etc...everything working just fine. I haven't yet fully confirmed that the audio and LAN are working but I will tonight.

Just because Neweggs site shows it being in stock, does not mean it is.
They just canceled my order, said that the P4S533 is on backorder. but it still says in stock on their site.
That's two bad experiences out of two orders I have done with them.:disgust:

D'oh! I wonder if I got the last one - ordered a P4S533 (along with a 1.6A and 512 MB Samsung PS2700) earlier today from Newegg and I have my shipping confirmation and tracking numbers.

I ordered Tuesday, they sent me the "No stock" message this afternoon (and it still shows in stock) and this evening sent me a tracking number that does not work, and still have not answered my e-mails:disgust:

If I knew for sure that they did not ship a m/b, I would order one from Mwave and have it shipped Overnight.
This will be my last experience with Newegg :disgust:
