Hello fellow members of Anandtech
I had just recently registered here and all I could say this site has helped me answer many of the questions that have been in my mind for some months now. Anyway, I have just received my new motherboard <Message Title> that I spent $292 for from Directron.com, <the motherboard + shipping and handling>. I have not yet taken the board out of its box feeling it might be defective. I also know that it was just released sometime ago and read from few comsumer reviews that it is a bright board with promise. But knowing how many of ASUS's current motherboards, they all tend to have a high RMA rate. Hopefully this motherboard stands to its name. One great thing I love about this board is that it comes with a 3-way SLI bridge and an ASUS 2-way SLI bridge, so 2-3 way is possible, yet I dont really plan to go all out Tri-SLI, most likely 2-way SLI. Another feature that I find interesting is that, although it uses only DDR2 memory, you could slap in DDR2 1200s.
Regarding memory, I am not sure to what memory to get for this board, for now Im just going to use my old 2GB OCZ memory till I find the right kind of memory for this board.
Since many, here at Anantech, have posted so many threads (some useful while others not so) I thought to finally ask for some advice from anyone.
a) ASUS P5N72-7 Premium - is this a good board to OC and SLI with?
b) Is anyone here using this board and if so how has the board been working for you?
c) Did I regret getting this board in the first place, since its somewhat still new?
Hoping for a helpful reply
regards,
