Lots of people do, it's one of the recommended boards when building a new computer aside from the Deluxe and gigabyte P45.

I do, my only complaint is that it has an Atheros NIC onboard. Unlike Marvell, Atheros does not release drivers to consumers directly, so you are dependent on ASUS to provide you with drivers / updates.

Oh and if you run Linux, the LAN does not work unless you have kernel 2.6.27 or above. You can get it working via instructions found here, but it is a hassle when your distro sends down kernel updates.
