Fair enough .

Yea my my bad, seems I've been mis-reading 9650 & 6850, I'm not even dyslexic either! lol.
I'd better correct my earlier links etc!

Ref an earlier question (now I've got my mix up sorted, sorry about that ), yes the Q9550 will run cooler than your QX6850.

LOL, I played a bit longer with the Vcore values and now I'm running it at 1.375 and work stable, I ran prime 95 for 6 hours and no problem, later than that the PC crashes, weird thing. It idles at 40C and goes all the way to 82C on full load, I cannot go beyond 3.50GHz without crashing or high temperatures, could be easier just to lower down the multiplier and upping the FSB? I found that at 3.53GHz with the Multiplier at 9x and the FSB at 389 was stable than having the CPU at 3.52GHz with the 10x multiplier and the FSB at 351Mhz? Why is that? I'm currently testing the CPU @ 3.51GHz with the FSB at 437MHz, Multiplier at 8x and same Vcore value.

You really shouldn't be running your CPU upto those temps, you're likely to damage it sooner or latter, if I were you I'd drop it to at least near default speeds for now & get a better cooler.
About the FSB issue, TBH I'm not sure but I have heard of FSB 'holes' ,I believe it maybe something to do with chipset timings, & possibly the TRD setting. To get something more definitive you ought to start a new thread asking about it, I'd like to get this thread back on topic too .

what should someone running a E6300 be setting their respective voltages to for stock?

i'm running it @ AUTO with speedstep atm and my core voltage in cpuz is being reported as 1.12.

Sorry for the delayed replie, I didn't get an email notification & I've only just stumbled across it by chance.

From my 1st post.
So to avoid heavy over-volting of the CPU PLL & FSB Term. set to the 2nd lowest manual setting

As far as vcore goes with Speedstep, I would guess that you should leave that on auto as it'll ramp vcore up & down with the varying clock speed IIRC.
