I don't think you can tell what rev BIOS is by looking at the board or packaging.

Latest listed Rev is 0703 according to Asus support site.
Website shows a total of 5 revisions since the board was released.

For boglwe,

You have the H50 there, have you seen a need to WC the SB or the mosfets yet?

I was going to go for the X58D but I can get a better set of Full Board blocks for the UD7. The fullboard blocks for the X58D don't include the mosfets.

If you haven't needed to add anymore WC I'll just go with the X58D and keep a good fan on the SB/Mosfets.

Great Discussion.
I too am trying to setup my Asus P6X58D MB the best way possible. I'd like to use an Intel X25-M 80GB SSD drive as a single drive for Win 7 and applications and 2 Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB in a RAID 1 for data.
So the motherboard has the following controllers:
•Southbridge
◦6 x SATA 3.0Gbit/s ports
◦Support AHCI controller with SATA RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 configurations

•Marvell 88SE9123 SATA 6.0Gbit/s controller
◦2 x SATA 6.0Gbit/s ports

My question comes down to:
Is it best to use the Marvel controller for the SSD drive setup for AHCI Enabled and then use the Intel controller for the RAID 1 setup?
OR
Just attach all drives to the Southbridge
This Benchmark discussion has given mereason to pause:

For you guys who have the ASUS P6X58D Premium and COOLER MASTER HAF 932 combo:

I am getting the same combo, however I will be putting in a self contained water cooling thing. It requires that I attach a mount to the back of the mobo, however I saw a review on newegg that states that the case's rear CPU window is too small and obstructs the screw holes behind where the CPU sits.

Can any of you who have this case/mobo combo confirm this?

Heres a link to the review: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119160

Its the review by Lockdown.

Thanks!

Read the review, and I think you mean PSU and not CPU.

I haven't had any problem with the PSU,so I don't know what the review was talking about.

The case is designed for mounting a liquid cooling system in the top of the case.PSU is mounted in
the bottom of the case.

Matter of fact,I just bought two more of these cases, lol.

No I was refering to this review:

"Cons: i love newgg and this case ust be great for some builds
but ** DO NOT ** buy this case to be paired with the asus p6x58d premium motherboard... ** DON NOT **
this is fair warning .. this mobo does not line up with the cpu cutout on this case and i dont know why.. after i purchased my new build this ruined my day... it is off about 1 inch.. i cut my new case to fit the h50 backplates and try to center it out
"

The back plate's hole for the rear part of the mobo that contains the cpu's rear mount for a waterblock (or in the reviewer and my case the H50 water cooling system for the CPU) does not line up with that back plate hole of the case, so if you wanna screw in the mount for the waterblock you have to cut the case. Which is what the reviewer is talking about.

Wow,MB showed up a couple days earlier than expected and yes, there
is a misalignment between the MB CPU socket and the MB tray cutout on the case.

I don't know if there is a problem with the location of the cutout on the case tray,or if the CPU socket location on this MB is different than others. It may well be this case's tray cutout was originally designed for previous generations of MB's.
How long has this case been in production?

At any rate, the support bracket for the cooler does clear the sheet metal on the MB tray.
I don't see this as a major problem.Takes less than 10 minutes to pull the MB out if I have to.
