ASUS P7P55D-E Led CPU remains ON

I have a problem on my pc.
On power on it starts but it doesn't pass to next steps because the CPU Led remains on RED light.
So, pc doesn't access BIOS and OS.
Sometimes all is OK and it starts normally.
Sometimes it happened that I click on power on then after 4-5 seconds it stops authomatically (stop of power on) and then after 4-5 seconds power on starts itself authomatically, but it is stopped thorugh CPU Led on the Motherboard that remains in RED light.
Help me!

We need your system specs for a start, including model number if the computer is prebuilt or if it is built by yourself, then the mboard brand and bios version, cpu description, dram configuration , overclocking parameters, power supply brand, a list all other items used by the mboard and a brief description of steps taken to date to fix it.

-PC prebuilt by shop on my indication for single elements (7-8 years ago)
-MB ASUS P7P55D-E
-CPU Intel I5-760 Lynnfield 2,89 GHz Socket 1156 LGA
-4 sticks 2GB RAM DDR3 (8GB total)
-overclocking parameters ...I don't know where to find them
-Power supply brand: I have to see (at this moment I'm out)
-Video board: ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450

To help troubleshoot your system I advise you strip it down to the most basic hardware level and, assuming the problem does not continue, add a part one by one until you identify the offending item. If the problem continues at the first stage, then the problem must be one of the items still active, the board, PSU, CPU. The off/on behaviour suggests the 8 yr old PSU needs looking at. So breadboard away:

Motherboard out of the case, resting on a non-conductive surface like a piece of cardboard.
1 stick of RAM
CPU and CPU cooler with fan plugged in.
PSU plugged into motherboard 24 pin connector and CPU 12V connector.
Motherboard speaker.
No Video Card, even if there are no integrated graphics.
Nothing else, no SATA devices or anything else connected to the motherboard and nothing else plugged into the PSU. Pull the CMOS battery for a few minutes, then replace it.

Turn PSU on by shorting the On/Off Power Switch header on the motherboard with a screwdriver. Some models will have a push button.

Listen to the beeps.

If the problem continues even at this point I would suggest trying a known working PSU as the next step.

CPU LED usually means the processor is bad or the socket is bad. I recommend testing with another CPU or test the CPU on another board. If the CPU error show up on another motherboard, the CPU is bad.

I find a lot of Asus boards' bios get corrupted over time. See if re-flashing helps.
