I have been trying to decide on a new MoBo after some reading here my plan is to buy a ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3
As far as CPUs I am thinking of a i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz
But reading about it says I need a P67 chip to use it unlocked..
Will the z68 suppout it or am I not understanding this correctly..
"Fully Unlocked Flexibility and Freedom With its fully unlocked multiplier, the Intel Core i7-2600K processor allows full control over the processor core/turbo and DDR3 ratios as well as power and current limits for the best possible overclocking results. It also allows for processor graphics overclocking for improved 3D performance. Intels cutting-edge 32nm micro-architecture with 2nd gen Hi-K+ metal gate process delivers the 2nd generation Intel Core processors with higher performance at lower power, thus better overclocking capability. (Intel P67 Express Chipset required for core and memory overclocking, and Intel H67 Express Chipset required for graphics overclocking.) "
Not sure which chip to buy Hi-K or Non Hi-K
Thanks..
