Thought you guys might like to share this review of the Asus Rampage II Formula , it's just been listed on Newegg at $299.99
There's a bit of controversy about this board already, seems it's not going to be available in the U.K. or some other E.U. countries. This apparently is down to the local national Asus companies; supposedly the pricing would put it too close to the Asus Rampage III Extreme.

I don't think it's quite as good looking as the Asus Crosshair IV Formula . Looking at the options for LN2, the Digi+ and extra BIOS features and tweaks it looks a bit more muscular :lol: That's first initial impression anyways. There’s a lot more features to explore

It's a regular ATX Form factor. The GENE is the MATX board.

I've not had my sticky mits on the Extreme , but going through the specs the outstanding ones are:-

the extreme has:-
Terminals Rather than simple measuring points for multimeter voltage measuring. So you can have constant real time monitoring on the Extreme.

Now that's the TIM I'm used to seeing under Asus mobo heatsinks. I pulled the heatsink assy off my Rampage III Extreme, they used this crazy-hard yellow garbage on NB/SB. Same pad as yours on PWMs.

Got mine on Friday and have been playing around with it since. I am running an i7 930 in it with Corsair Dominator GT (CMT6GX3M3A2000C8) memory. The best I have been able to do is 193 X 21 or 4.06 GHz spped. This is with a Thermalright Venomous X RT CPU cooler. This is the highest speed that will run stable on air. I have had to up some of the voltages in order to get this speed stable. Still playing around. Not sure what is holding me back at this point. I'd like to get the bus speed up to 200 but right now I am not there. I love the board and the BIOS. Sweet ride.

Depends on the case and memory. The board will support them. I have a Silver Arrow coming this week I plan to use with this board.

Hello guys, I am running a rig with this motherboard and I ran into a small problem, hopefully its minor and that the motherboard is still good. I'm running 6GB Corsair Dominator 1600mhz memory but when I'm on setup and/or main system panel screen its only showing 4066MB or 4GB only. Thought it was the memory so I swapped that memory with some other memory from my other i7 rig and that memory also shows only 4GB and not 6GB (note: that memory shows 6GB on the other rig and not this) I'm running Windows 7 64-bit professional. Hope someone can help me or are having a similar concern.

This board ended up being a bust for me. I returned it yesterday and got a P6X58D Premium. I had two different Rampage III Formula boards and both had issues with Crucial C300 SSDs. Over at the ASUS Forums there are other with issues getting the C300 to work with the RIIIF. I never could get it to work while some have. I cloned an Agility 2 that was installed and working on the Marvell SATA III ports but it would not work so I tried a clean install using the C300 and it failed to install. The P6X58D Premium took the cloned C300 on the Marvell SATA III port with no issues and since I was going from an X58 board to an X58 board I didn't even have to do a clean install. It's up and running just fine today and actually overclocks better than the RIIIF. I hope others are having more success than me. I had no problem running a SATA II drive on the Marvell port but it was the C300 (which is the reason you buy a SATA III board) that gave me fits. Future buyer beware until ASUS comes out with a BIOS revision or two.

Board has been nothing but a awesome pleasure a week in now for me at least. 6gb of mushkin redline 6-8-6-24 1600, wd 2tb black drive. I can say at least for me this memory works great and is on the QVL. I'm waiting until closer to Christmas to maybe pick up an SSD so no comment there.

I am running the rampage III extreme and picked up a c300 ssd. This thing smokes on the on this board, with the sata III controller.
