I'm on now my THIRD P5N32-E SLI board. The first one died when a MOSFET on the PCB blew up. I RMA'd through NewEgg and received a replacement about 12 days later.
That second board ran fine in my rig for about 2 weeks and then died - the PW-ON header somehow internally shorted (it will turn on without pressing any buttons or even having headers connected, outside of my case, and a resistance check across the header shows 1/10 the resistance of any other board I have). After this disaster (last Thursday) I'm pissed again and check to see about RMA'ing thru NewEgg again. Well - their 30 day return policy applies to the original purchase date so it's too late (The 12 days lost in the first RMA and all associated downtime counts against the 30 day return policy).
So - I cave and order a third board (because I don't want to mess around re-loading everything) which is up and running. So - now I want to send the second board back and have it replaced. Does anyone have any experience with Asus RMA? I have definitive proof it's the board as all of the same components work fine in the other system. Also, is it worth my time to try and get an extension with NewEgg?
I know I won't get any money back - but I would at least like a working board (to sell if nothing else).
