When a PC hooks up to anything, they get what ever refresh rate is available. Do you really think that these 144hz don't work in France? They work in the USA, and we use 60hz on TVs.

As far as the plug in, you'll likely have to buy a different power cord, or use one laying around from another monitor.

Not talking about the monitor hooked up to the pc, talking about the power supply. We use 110v, 60Hz AC. Europe uses a different standard and possibly a different shaped plug.

Just checked mine. The AC adapter is universal, so you may only need a new power cord, or just a plug adapter.

Are you sure a French market monitor is going to work here? IIRC, France uses 220V, 50Hz AC.

They sell travel adapters for laptops. Must be the same for monitors.

Anyhow, it's possibly no longer relevant. Unless it's misleadingly advertised, I may have found it in stock in Montreal.

$950 USD seems a bit steep. i lucked out and happened to check newegg when they were in stock. i get paying a premium just to finally get one, suppose it's up to you if $150 USD is worthwhile.

If I am not mistaken, the reason 60hz was chosen in the US, was because of the frequency of our AC current. It doesn't matter now, but once a standard was set in place, that is what we use.

The colours are pretty good, but the off-axis colour shift is noticeable. If you put this side-by-side with an IPS display, you will notice the poorer picture quality, but on its own, it doesn't look too bad.

Yeah, it would be great if someone could make a high refresh rate IPS with G-sync. I would be willing to pay good money for it too.

No dead pixels, no excessive backlight bleed. Works like a charm with everything I throw at it. Really happy with it.

To get better than this, IPS or VA needs to be able to get similar response times. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

If you get a good Swift it will be a great all-purpose monitor.

My Swift so far has zero problems as well. Zero pixels, great image quality. Still brings a grin on my face when play DA:I with Gsync, it is game changer for sure

Only thing i regret is not beeing able to buy it immediately after seeing it in person due to zero availability, Asus real needs to sort out their supply/demand stuff ( on other hand, they might be limited by panel availability themselves).

G-sync. It's too much of a pain to switch back and forth, and I can't see any difference with ULMB. With G-sync everything is smooth and there's no tearing.

I've never tried ULMB mode. Very happy with G-sync and high refresh rates. Problem is that once you have become used to this monitor, going back to regular 60Hz monitor is very difficult.

I was a bit underwhelmed by the ULMB mode. The reduction of blur going from IPS to this TN was far greater, ULMB only reduces it a bit further. It is not the monumental difference that low persistence mode on the Oculus Rift makes by any means, by comparison.

I go with G-Sync because holding 120Hz is very difficult at 1440p, even with multiple GPUs. GPUs aren't quite ready for ULMB at this resolution, though the may be in next year.

But, my initial impressions with high refresh G-Sync from a 60Hz IPS:

So I got my Swift last night. I immediately noticed that the gamma was way way off, it's around 1.6-1.7. I am using the NVCP to adjust the gamma back to 2.2, but this causes bad color banding. I've tried installing the ASUS monitor driver and ICC color profile but they appear to have no effect whatsoever. Not sure if I am having a driver problem or if the monitor is grossly defective. Anyone experience this issue with theirs or know how to fix it?
