Asus Transformer -- DOA/Please Help

Hello All,

I just received my new Asus Transformer (64Gb) yesterday. I put it on the charger immediately and tried to power it on after about 30 min (still on AC). To my dismay, it would not turn on. After 24 hours of charging, it still will not power on. Symptoms are as follows:

Tablet will not power on.
Holding the power button for 10-12 seconds (reset function) causes a faint, barely audible "pop".
Twice, I thought I saw an incredibly faint "Asus" in the bottom center of the screen after attempting to power on. It was so faint, though, that it could have been my imagination.
Power transformer and right side of unit were warm, indicating the battery was charging.
No lights or indications of any kind were displayed.

If you can help, please do! Otherwise I guess this thing is just DOA.

Have you contacted Asus or the vendor you bought it from? Battery pull?

The unit seems to be sealed, so a battery pull isn't possible. I've contacted Asus, but no response to far (24 hours).

Did you try holding the power button in for 15 seconds? It is a soft switch and 10+ seconds should force a hard reset.

Also they recommend you charge for 8 hours before first use.

yea i was gonna jump on that earlier but im just lazy

the EEE pad only comes in 16 and 32 GB versions. so the OP is either mistaken or purchased a fake

I just assumed it was a typo (or brain fart) and he actually has a 16 or 32 model.

Yes, the model is 32Gb. Bought it from Amazon. Looks like I'll be shipping it back today.

Man that blows. I have the 16gb version and the only issue I have is one slight bleed spot on the lower middle screen. g/l in the replacement.
