why are AT'ers always such paranoia freaks? They can't overcharge you, and this conspiracy thing really, PhilC, that is just too far!

[added later. I just found out the deal has now appeared on Pricewatch. So they won't be getting 500 orders, they'll be getting 5000. If you believe some little online store is willing to lose a million dollars on this deal, feel free to put your order in ]

They cannot charge more for the card without notifying us.
That's why you pay with American Express. AmerExp always takes the customer's side on a chargeback. If they ship out my vid card and charge me ~$550, I'll dispute it and have the cards and the money. Then it will be the reseller's responsibility to ship me a box with postage paid to get the cards back.Originally posted by: modedepe

Well they're not supposed to, however that doesn't mean they won't. Read some of the reviews on resellerratings. They have done it to other people in the past. IMO this isn't worth the effort. If you place an order, the best you can hope for is to get your money back. There is no way they are shipping these out at this price. At worst, they'll charge your card another $400.

FYI, Maximum PC did a review of the Asus card and it turns out it only has 12 pipelines so it's just like a plain jane 6800. They were disappointed in Asus for lableling the card the way they did.

Is that the same card as the one in question?

Customers who wouldn't have shopped there had it not been for this "mistake." I doubt the vendor would hesitate to cancel the orders.Originally posted by: kabob983
