How are Intel boards for overclocking? (may overclock it a little but nothing extreme) my asus board has the option in the bios to overclock by 10% does Intel have those setting or do i manually have to put them in

my current rig is

x2-3800
corsair 1 gig (2x512 sticks) ddr
evga 6800
seagate hard drive 200 gig

Im looking at the e6400 conroe if you had $1000.00 bucks to ugrade cpu/mobo/ram and maybe a new 19 lcd what would you get? (still not sure about the lcd yet

The ASUS mobo is the better mobo overall. The new bios (not sure if its out yet ot not) also allows for better overclocking than the original stock board.

If your not going to overclock, then you shouldn't bother getting the over priced ASUS motherboard. Only heavy overclocking can justify the price. The intel board is very stable. I don't know about overcloking in the BIOS but you can usually overclock in Windows using "CLockGen" software. I have an Intel 865-based motherboard that I can easily overclock 10% using this software.

Asus will have the better quality components...Intel boards are made by Foxconn under the Intel logo.

You learn something new everyday. I bet most people on here didn't know that.

So would you all say use Intel if running at stock and use Asus if im going to overclock? Any speed differences between and 965 and a 975 board?

Assuming you used the same ram, cpu, and video card in both systems I dont think the difference, if there was any, would be much at least from one review I saw anyway. The difference is in features and overclocking ability/performance.
