Asus Warranty for thermal compound replacement?

I got a Asus Direct CU II 290 I bought it used and the previous owner claimed to do some mining with it. My problem is it likes to get 94c in Far Cry 4 which IMO is about 14c give or take higher then it should be running. I was thinking maybe putting different thermal compound might help it since it was mined with and it could have dried it out. Hate to take it apart if it voids warranty though.

Well I ended up adding some new compound hopefully I'll never need to send it in. The old was dried bad and everywhere. Also the VRM heatsink screw was completely unscrewed on one side. Surprised the card was even stable. The temps dropped 10c give or take and they climb alot slower then before.

AFAIK, changing the thermal compound doesn't invalidate the warranty, unless you use some thermal compound that is conductive.

Though, I don't think ASUS allows transfer of warranty, so, if the miner before you already registered the product, I don't think you are covered under warranty.

Asus' warranty service is famous for being poor anyway.
