ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming - Bios question

Hi,

I have my Asus Z170 Pro gaming running with no problems whatsoever.
This mobo and an I5 6600K @ 4.3Ghz perfectly stable and cool. But I'm still on the same BIOS as the one that was there on the day of purchase.

Version 1102

I just notices that 1206 is the latest version released for this Mobo.

My questions:
Anyone here who has tested all those BIOS files?
Which one do you advice to use or just stick with the one that running now?
Would there be any performance win if I would update my BIOS?
Possible to (safely) downgrade the BIOS?

If everything is perfect, leave it I suppose. I am of the type that would want to be at the latest version though. I have the H170 variant of the same board for the most part, the H170 PRO GAMING and I have updated the BIOS several times since I purchased it and each time I have noticed better behavior when it comes to sleep/resume and detecting monitors and audio over displayport/HDMI. That, coupled with Intel graphics driver updates, apparently have improved stability for me.

I don't overclock. If you were running stock I would strongly recommend updating your BIOS. But if you have a stable OC you have major reason to take pause. Maybe wait some time and in the meantime research what the specific BIOS revisions do. Also, find others with the same board and hardware and see what they report. There might be some people who have taken the plunge before you and can give insight.

I wish they gave better info about BIOS updates... If the Microcode updates have anything to do with the Skylake bug, then I would update the firmware. LINKY

Anyone know if ASUS BIOS updates are incremental or not?

I don't think they're incremental. I jumped a couple versions when I first bought my board and it updated fine.
