he was commenting on how little combat data there was on AT AT as opposed to AT ST which were owned by ewoks.

I was saying we have no data on the combat effectiveness of AT-ATs against Ewoks like we do with the AT-ST.

Given the Empire's tactical weakness against hurled stones and log traps I would recommend a strategy of avoidance of Ewok populated worlds. The Ewok's do lack the transports required for offensive attacks which means they could be effectively bypassed.

I was watching that scene earlier today when they attacked on Hoth and I thought to myself, the Rebels are a bunch of idiots! Why are they approaching from the front for their attacks. The AT-ATs can't shoot behind them. Completely vulnerable from behind.

Also why did the rebels use Snowspeeders to atack the AT-AT's when they had plenty of X-Wings sitting in their hangar? It seems like their weapons should have been much more effective.

atmospheric operation is probably not optimal on x-wings.

Obviously there was some sort of unnoticed conspiracy. Leadership couldn't possibly be that incompetent. They must have had some motive for losing. Hmmmm.. "Let's see, if we win, we stay here on this frozen chunk of wasteland. But, if we lose this battle, we get to go to a comfortable, warmer planet to regroup."

The nerd in me learned long ago that space fighters used anti-grav generators to maneuver in the atmosphere, so they were optimized for space combat. The snowspeeders were souped up versions of the landspeeders that could reach 50 ft or so above the ground.

The grown up side of me said "yeah, they wanted more toys to sell."
