AT Forums slow as molasses?

Its taking about 30 seconds to go from one page to another.
anyone else experiencing this?

all other sites load fine.

yeah, it's been pretty bad the last hour or two for me. Seems to be a bit better now though...i dunno.

Just out of curiosity, what antivirus are you running?

It's almost always been slow for me. Keeps me from actually spending more time here. I use Kaspersky's. Doubt if it's the AV.

Kaspersky a/v + Vista64 = Anandtech snail loading speed = my own experience
My other systems that have McAfee has no issue loading speed whatsoever, btw.

It's definetely Kaspersky. I spend over a minute trying to completely load this page in both Firefox and IE. I disabled Kaspersky and with Firefox as well as IE the page loaded in 1-2 seconds.

I totally agreed. Prior to installing Kaspersky into my Vista64 rig, I was using Avast without any loading speed problem with AT site. There gotta be a way to unfilter this from Kaspersky setting without completely uninstalling the Kaspy a/v off my rig if any one ever tried?

There is a solution I found on the Kaspersky forums. It works.

To all those who are having issues with loading specific websites and where unticking port80 helps with loading it, try to add it to TrustedZone...click v6...Settings>TrustedZone>TrustedApplications
v7...Settings>Threats&Exclusions>TrustedZone>TrustedApplications
...click Add, browse for the web-browser you use, tick only the "do not scan network traffic" box.
...click the blue "any" on the row which says "at any remote host".
...click "specify" and add the IP address of the site you are having problems with.

To find the IP address of the site you are having issues with, click Start>run... type in cmd... a black box should open up. in there, type in ping [website which does not work]. The IP address of the site is the long set of numbers with 4 decimal points between them.

I don't think ping works simply because the site just slows loading...but I did most of the setting as you described and it now loads much faster than before. Thanks for the help.

It's running incredibly slow for me also, and not just at home, but at school too. I am running Nod32 at home and MacAffee at school, and it is unbearable at times.

BIG EDIT: The other computers on my network are working fine. Apparentally NOD32 doesn't like this website either.

i do use Kaspersky but on XP pro. it didn't always load slow though. its slow as hell tonight now again. i tried that fix listed above but it didn't make any change at all.

disabling the email AV seems to have fixed it. how the hell does the email portion affect web browsing?

i can't leave the Web AV disabled all the time though.

edit: nvm, its slow as hell again...

edit 2: lol, i re-enabled the mail AV and its running fast now...this is weird.
