Release date for the A8R32-MVP is March 2nd. It will be available for sale on launch day. Many retailers have already received stock but don't list it yet.
My original A8R-MVP turned out not to be cherry at all. I overlooked the fact in my review that the board reset to 2T at the 265 wall and was actually reporting the 325 OC which REQUIRED 2T timings. THAT will NEVER happen again, although I'm sure i will find new mistakes to make. We bought several retail boards and found anyone with the right memory and PS could do 320+ at 2T on the A8R-MVP, but not at 1T.
There are also some technical things going on with the A8R-MVP we were not aware of. We didn't know at the time that Asus had first used their Auto Clock Skew on the A8R-MVP. That's the reason it OC'ed so well, but it's also why it required 2T. The Auto Clock Skew on the A8R32-MVP Deluxe is a much refined and more effective version of this feature. We have even heard rumors that DFI will have an auto clock skew feature on their new RD580.
And you're right. This is a retail, release motherboard and not a pre-production. ATi was originally going to introduce RD580 WITH the R580 (X1900XT) on January 20th. We have heard that Asus had boards ready then when they learned the launch was delayed by ATI until March 2nd.
