From all the tests we have done, this board definitely packs a punch in the performance department. In fact, I dare to say this is one of the fastest ATi chipset motherboard out there. To complete the picture, ASUS put in the ULi M1575 Southbridge to do away with the sub-par USB performance of the SB450. The dual x16 PCIE bus lanes deliver an edge over the dual x8 competitors at high resolutions with visual enhancements turned on. It is also very compatible with many different sets of Memory and run 1T flawlessly with them.
In terms of overclocking, this board does a pretty good job topping out at 325MHz HTT. Hiowever, with the annoying bug of the BIOS overclocking mentioned earlier in this review and the lower HTT acheived on this board compared to it's competitors, I would not call this board an overclocking Champ. It managed to overclock a Dual Core X2 higher than the ASUS A8R MVP, but falls short of the CPU overclock potential of the DFI RDX200. With a limited maximum CPU voltage of 1.55v and Memory voltage of 3.2v, this closes the door to record-high clock speeds and shoos off the hardcore overclocking community.
Going for around USD$200 (SGD$334), it is a pretty good buy should one be on the look-out for a motherboard upgrade. An excellent buy should one be on the lookout for a Cross-Fire capable motherboard which happens to deliver the best in performance.
